Between Worlds

You Are Both

Maybe you straddle two languages, two cultures, and never truly feel at home in either country. Maybe you were the first English speaker in your family, explaining grown-up things to your parents, translating in doctors' offices, and helping them sign paperwork long before you were of age. You learned to switch between versions of yourself, depending on who was in the room. Maybe you’ve always been “the good one.” You’ve been taught to be grateful, to make yourself small so others can feel comfortable. I understand, and I believe you deserve to be complex, to feel what you feel, and choose your own path. Bring your whole self, and let’s get into it.

Possible Symptoms: Confusion, Self-Doubt, People Pleasing, Exhaustion, Difficulty Setting Boundaries
