My Approach to Therapy:

My approach to therapy combines elements of Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strengths-Focused, and Values-Focused methods to provide a holistic therapy experience.

Components:

  1. Attachment Theory: Helping you understand how early relationships (when you were a child) shape how you connect with others today, so that you can build healthier relationships.

  2. CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): Helping you notice and change unhelpful thoughts and ways of communicating.

  3. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Teaching skills to manage strong emotions and improve relationships with others.

  4. Strengths-Focused: Focusing on what you’re already good at and using those strengths to help you grow.

  5. Values-Focused: Helping you figure out what’s most important to you and making sure your actions match your values.

Therapy

Have you been wondering how therapy might support you?

People may seek therapy for various non-clinical reasons that still profoundly impact their emotional well-being and personal growth. Some examples include:

Self-exploration and personal growth: Understanding oneself better, exploring identity, or working on self-confidence.

Life transitions: Navigating major changes like marriage, divorce, motherhood, career shifts, becoming an empty nester, death of a loved one, critical illness diagnosis, or family incarceration.

Work-life balance: Managing the pressures of school, career, family, and personal time without burning out.

Relationship challenges: Addressing struggles in romantic relationships, friendships, or family dynamics.

Parenting support: Finding guidance on how to navigate parenthood, co-parenting, or dealing with parenting stress.

Grief and loss: Coping with the death of a loved one, miscarriages, or other forms of loss that might not meet clinical criteria for depression.

Confidence and empowerment: Building self-esteem, overcoming self-doubt, or finding a stronger voice in personal or professional settings.

Setting boundaries: Learning how to say no, stand up for oneself, or prevent people-pleasing.

Healing from past experiences: Processing difficult experiences like breakups, family conflict, or feeling unsupported (even if it doesn’t meet the criteria for trauma).

Cultural or identity struggles: Exploring bicultural identities, handling societal expectations, or navigating gender roles.
